Sussanne Khan, the media shy and pretty wife of Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan, has launched another interior store – The Charcoal project.

Located in Andheri, it is spread over an area of 14, 000 square feet and has a wide spectrum of decor products that range from French antique furniture to modern eclectic furniture to home accessories, dinnerware, table linen, crockery, soft furnishings, installations, artefacts, and limited edition photo-art and accent pieces.

Sussanne will showcase her collections as well as creations of Indian and some international designers as well. The store will offer creations of Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla, who apart from designing clothes also come up with home furnishings.

British interior designer Andrew Martin’s collection will also be on display.

Sussanne has an Associate of Arts Degree in interior design from Brooks College in Long Beach, California. She first started working with the interior firm of her mother Zarine, wife of actor-filmmaker Sanjay Khan.

She is a full-fledged interior designer and owner of Suzanne Roshan’s House of Design. Known for her good work, she was roped in by actresses Rani Mukerji and Priyanka Chopra to do their houses.

Her new store was launched Sunday and Bollywood came in full force – from Aamir Khan, Jaya Bachchan, Shahid kapoor to Katrnia Kaif, Shilpa Shetty, Anil Kapoor and Twinkle Khanna were there.

Aamir Khan re-connects with No Man’s Land (the film was pitted against Lagaan at the Oscar’s) director in Berlin

Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao hosted dinner for No Man’s Land director Danis Tanovic while in Berlin.

Incidentally, Tanovic’s film was pitted against Khan’s Lagaan in the Foreign Language category of the Oscar’s in 2002. The two former competitors met at the Berlin Film Festival after missing out on the opportunity earlier.

Missed meeting

A source reveals, “Danis had watched Lagaan and was quite impressed with Aamir. He had even requested his agents back in 2002 to get in touch with the actor. But since Khan had left for India, they couldn’t meet.”

This time, however, things were different.

At the Berlinale, AK was a jury member while Tanovic was part of a panel discussion on ‘filming war’. When the director heard Aamir was in the German capital, he sought him out.

Says a source, “He found out the room the Indian actor-producer-director was in and just went and knocked on his door.

To his surprise, Khan remembered him. He was touched to know that Danis had wanted to meet him since then.” Their meeting lasted over an hour and Kiran insisted he join them for dinner.

On top of the world 

Kiran was taken aback when Danis told her he wanted to see Dhobi Ghat.

“She didn’t think a Bosnian filmmaker would have heard about her debut film. She was obviously thrilled and kept telling everyone how the filmmaker’s interest in her film made her feel on top of the world. “

Akele hum…

Recluse that he is, “Aamir mostly stayed in his room through out the Film Festival.

He avoided the gala dinners and parties thrown by various studios. Instead he spent a lot of time reading some interesting scripts and literature on new world cinema.” reveals our source.

When contacted Aamir confirms he met up with Danis, “He is just an amazing, down-to-earth guy. Kiran and I hosted him for dinner.”

Who is Danis Tanovic?

Danis Tanovic is a Bosnian film director and screenwriter. He is best known for having directed and written the script for the 2001 Bosnian movie No Man’s Land, which won an Academy Award.

He was a member of the jury at the 2003 Cannes Film Festival. His 2010 film Cirkus Columbia was selected as the Bosnian entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 83rd Academy Awards, but it didn’t make the final shortlist..

Bollywood Gossip: Having being successfully casted in nine Bollywood films during the past four years, Bollywood Actress Deepika Padukoneseems to be now looking forward to work with Bollywood Superstars Hrithik Roshan,Salman Khan and Aamir Khan.

 Deepika Padukone came to the Bollywood spotlight with the movie Om Shanti Om co-starring Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan and Arjun Rampal. She was later seen in various other movies sharing the silver screen with Bollywood Actors Akshay Kumar & Saif Ali Khan.

Caught in the whirlwind of two back to back releases Break Ke Baad and Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey, Deepika Padukone recently said in an interview “I am looking forward to working with Aamir, Salman and Hrithik as my next agenda.”

With five releases in 2010 alone, the 24-year-old model turned actress has her hands full and is quite happy with the films coming her way. “I am very happy with the films I am being offered. This year has been a classic example of mixture of films from different genres. I would like to continue this trend,” said Deepika, who began her year with psychological thriller Karthik Calling Karthik co-starring Farhan Akhtar and ended it with a patriotic period movie Khelein Hum…

Even though she is juggling different genres with ease at an early stage in her career, Deepika says the process she undergoes as an actor is same for every film.

“I am still in the process of getting into a character, living in it, trying to portray it well. Whether I do a Break Ke Baad or Om Shanti Om or KHJJS, the process for me is the same.”

Deepika, who has a some romantic comedies in her kitty including Bachna Ae Haseeno and the recent ‘Break Ke Baad’, says she enjoys acting in such films as she grew up watching movies of the kind.

“As an audience I have grown up watching romcoms and love stories like Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, which had the typical opposing parents, rebellious children and so much drama. I like to star in such movies as an actor as well. I would love to have played Kajol’s role in DDLJ,” she added.
