Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar reminiscences about the several thunder packed action stunts for his favorite bottle of Thums Up in the latest soft drink campaign-‘Yeh Toofan’.

The communication takes the ‘I will do Anything for my thunder’ attitude to the next level, where Akshay is seen, back in thick of action, performing some adrenalin pumping action such as crashing through the window of an exploding high rise, snatching a Thums Up bottle from jaws of a vicious alligator, taking on a mob of angry gangsters to swimming through strong rapids.

The exhilarating campaign shot in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia attempts to highlight a gripping tale with series of daredevil acts by Akshay Kumar for his bottle of Thums Up.

In his quest for his Thums Up, Akshay uses a combination of bold action and smart thinking to outwit all the challenges, demonstrating the daredevil attitude of a Thums Up lover.

If Ajay Devgn can do it in Toonpur ka Super-hero and Shah Rukh Khan in Ra.1, Khatron ka Khiladi Akshay Kumar, who is considered one of the fittest and most athletic actors in B-town, cannot be left far behind.

Akshay has been toying with idea of doing a super-hero film for a long time. “It’s something that I’ve promised my son Aarav.

Not quite the Western model of a super-hero, but a super-hero more identifiable with our own culture, ” says Akshay.

Reliable sources reveal that Akshay’s super-hero epic would be part-mythological part-fantasy and Nikhil Advani will direct it.

Advani, with whom Akshay has collaborated on two projects in the past Chandni Chowk To China and the well-received Patiala House, said, “All I can say at the moment is that I’m going to cast Akshay as a full-on hero. He is the kind of guy that kids look up to as a protector.

He’s complete super-hero material.”

Says a source, “Akshay doesn’t want to make his super-hero film a replica of Superman or Spiderman. He knows the original Hollywood super-heroes are now available in every Indian language including Bhojpuri.

He has asked his director to turn more to Hindu mythology for inspiration. The role-model for Akshay’s super-hero would be Hanuman.”

While the character is now being developed to accommodate Akshay’s vision, the super-hero film would also mark the return of Akshay as a full-on action hero.

“He will perform a lot of his stunts himself. Somewhere down the line he began playing the goofy loser once too often. Son Aarav and wife Twinkle want him to play the super-hero, ” a source revealed.

“The idea is not to take on Hollywood on their terms but to work our way around their USPs, ” says Akshay sagely.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Salman Khan, once close friends, are now ready to give each other stiff competition. Caught unwittingly in the crossfire is hapless Sonakshi Sinha.

Bhansali’s untitled action production to be directed by Prabhu Deva will feature Akshay Kumar in an avatar that will take him far beyond his Khiladi image — the movie, say insiders, promises pyrotechnics Kumar has never done before.

Enter Khan. The Dabangg hero has hired a Thai stunt director, who worked with Jackie Chan, for the film’s sequel. Interestingly, the stuntman has worked with Kumar for the Dollar underwear ad.

A source in Bangkok, where Khan is shooting Ready with Anees Bazmi says, “Salman is shooting heavy duty stunts with a Thai action director. This man has worked extensively with Jackie Chan. Now, Salman wants him to do the action sequences for Dabangg 2.”

Sonu Sood, who plays the villain in the movie, says, “I am not at liberty to talk about the stunts in Dabangg 2. But they will be far more intricate.

We will need more practise before we face the camera.” Both, Dabangg 2 and Prabhu Deva’s action film are expected to take the action genre in Bollywood to a new level. The fact that Khan’s protegee Sinha stars in both films adds irony to the competition.

Khan, with his keen sense of mass hero-giri had done Wanted with Prabhu Deva two years ago, so Salman knows all of Deva’s tricks. What’s more, his business acumen has grown considerably with Dabangg.

According to sources, he intends to build on the Dabangg franchise and take it further than the Golmaal franchise. Khan wants Dabangg 2 to be bigger than the first film, even as the core cast remains unchanged.

“Salman has discussed the dynamics of the sequel with Arbaaz. He wants the main actors to stay put. Sonakshi will play his wife again and Sonu will be back as the main villain, ” says a source. If you are wondering how that will be possible, since Sood’s character was killed in the first film, you haven’t seen too many Hindi films.

Sood will reappear as a twin brother. “That’s true. Salman was keen to build on the Dabangg franchise from the time he was shooting for the first film.

In the climax, my character dies. T ensure I’m back, he conceived a dialogue on the spot regarding my twin. We were stunned when Salman mentioned the twin. That’s when we realised that a sequel would be in order, ” says Sood. May the best wham win.

Akshay Kumar has become more of a family man with the passage of time. He hates being away from his wife and son for long periods. He prefers to shoot out of Mumbai preferably during his son Aarav’s holidays so that his wife Twinkle and his son can join him for long outdoors.

Last week when he had to leave for Chandigarh for a long spell of shooting Akshay’s son had school to attend and couldn’t come along. Akshay was homesick and lonely. Twinkle and Aarav would now be joining Akshay in Chandigarh over every weekend when Aarav has two days off.

Says a source from Chandigarh, “Akshay has been really missing his wife and son. He told Shirish to get his wife Farah and their triplets over so that there would be a family atmosphere while they shoot. He has even asked Sonakshi to invite her parents to Chandigarh where he will play host. ”

And now Shrish’s better-half Farah is also joining in in the revelry. Taking a break from her schedules in Mumbai Farah has decided to take off for Chandigarh with her triplets.

The kids Anya, Diva and Czar also need to get away from the pollution. Says Farah, “They’ve a terrible cough and cold. I’m just waiting to leave with them for Chandigarh. ”

Sonakshi of course is completely regaled by her family-oriented hero. She sees a lot of likeness between her first leading man Salman and Akshay. They both treat her with kids’ gloves and can’t do without their families.

It’s one prankster to another for Sonakshi Sinha. If Salman Khan was a masti-khor during all of Dabangg Akshay Kumar is non-stop fun and games. He has Sonakshi in splits in Chandigarh, so much so that onlookers often wonder if the joke is on them.

Akshay’s back problem seems to have vanished in the pure unpolluted air of Chandigarh. Shooting for Joker, Akshay’s first film in 3D, is a picnic thanks to Akshay’s never-ending antics.

“Akshay’s antics have us in splits. When we had unseasonal rains here in Chandigarh and were confined indoors Akshay was a one-man entertainment show for us. He’s a very patient and co-operative actor. It certainly helps to have a hero like that, ” says Shirish.

About the shooting in 3D Shirish says, “It is not very different from shooting a normal film since I always shot visuals with a lot of scale and depth. The most important thing for 3D is a good depth of field in every frame and a lot of patience. ”

A source close to the actor reveals, “Akki calls Punam the lady with hands of gold. In fact, he feels she’s the best ‘master chef’ he knows.

The actor’s diet has gone for a toss as he’s been sampling all the delicacies she rustles up. Akshay loves Bengali food in particular and Mrs Sinha made it a point to cook mustard fish and bring it for him.”

Says Sonakshi’s mom, “I love cooking as it is therapeutic for me. I made Bengali mustard fish, masala mutton paaya and other stuff for Akshay and the Joker cast and crew.

My bhabhi stays in Chandigarh so I would cook at her place or at the hotel we stayed in.

I am used to the earlier style of filmmaking when we would shoot for BR Chopra etc and got food from the house and ate it on the sets like one big family.”

She jokingly adds that all the rich and delicious dishes that she whipped up must have irritated Akshay’s trainer Jennifer who travels with him all the time.

“When Akshay would eat all that I cooked for him I would catch Jennifer looking at me as if admonishing me for wreaking havoc with his diet. Finally when I The best master chef:Sonakshi left Chandigarh I told her that I was going away.”

Bollywood News: Bollywood Actress Anushka Sharma seems to be in the happiest phase of her life. The pretty lady is quite satisfied with the way her filmy career and personal life are shaping up. It was my first day and I was anyway quite nervous and he (Akshay) kept saying ‘thook thook, spit on my face’. That really got me stunned.” Akshay really wanted to bring out the best from his actress, even if it was something as gross as spitting. Anushka says, “Though I was nervous, Akshay made it easy and comfortable and the shot went smoothly.” Akshay has always maintained a good rapport with all the newcomer actresses, so is the beautiful Anushka Sharma going to replace the sexy Kat!
