Katrina Kaif appears on the latest cover of a men’s magazine. In the accompanying interview, she treads through each question carefully as usual. Here are some excerpts…

WEDDING? “Do I see myself married in two years? I don’t really know. I think by the time I’m around 33, I should be having kids. But you can’t plan it.

I do want to get married, but do I want to have a child grow up without a father? No. I think you need more security.”

SEE “ME”: “I’m not comfortable beyond a certain line of sensuality, ” she says.

“I think it can be offensive to certain sectors of your audience. It’s important that it comes across as you.”

KAT, THE NOMAD: “I have a lot of feelings of being lost and shy and isolated. I felt alien, ” she says.

“It makes you feel unsettled in your mind. You crave somewhere to settle.”

Actress Katrina Kaif has stepped down as the brand ambassador of Indian Premier League team Royal Challengers Bangalore because she feels she will not be able to do justice to her responsibilities towards the team due to the IPL-4 matches clashing with her shooting schedule.

The Banglaore IPL team had extended her appointment as the brand ambassador for seasons three and four, but she is unable to continue as she would be shooting for Yash Raj Film’s “Mere Brother Ki Dulhan” during IPL-4 beginning April 8.

The film’s shooting is in Agra and, therefore, it won’t be possible for her to make appearances to support the team and hence the decision to step down as brand ambassador, a press statement said.

“Katrina Kaif is a thorough professional and believes in giving her 100 percent to all her commitments. She is an avid sport’s enthusiast and wanted to be present for all of the team’s matches to cheer them on, ” said a source.

“However, since she will be shooting during IPL-4, she has decided to opt out of the Royal Challengers since she wouldn’t be doing justice to them, ” the source added.

“Mere Brother Ki Dulhan” is Ali Abbas Zafar’s directorial debut and Katrina has teamed up with actor Imran Khan and Pakistani singer-actor Ali Zafar in the movie.

“Mere Brother Ki Dulhan” is scheduled to release worldwide in July.

You must often hear it being said that there is no shortage of work in Bollywood and actors can find enough projects if they are competent. But when it comes to the A-list projects, there is a crunch situation. The top grade actors stay in contention for these projects till someone is finalized. Some days ago we reported about the indecision over the lead actress in ‘Dhoom 3’. Now it’s Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s ‘Ferrari ki Sawari’ that has some problems in casting the leading lady. B-town scorchers Katrina Kaif andKareena Kapoor are in the loop for the role.

The male lead of ‘Ferrari ki Sawari’ is Sharman Joshi. He will be working with Vidhu Vinod Chopra again after the stupendous success of ‘3 Idiots’. The film will be directed by debutant Rajesh Mapuskar. When they began working on the script, Rajesh or Vinod did not have a leading lady in the screenplay. Then Vinod decided to hand over the script to Rajkumar Hirani. Hirani set aside his work for his next movie and took up the script. He added a character as Sharman’s reel wife. The wife appears in flashbacks in black and white print.

Rajesh Mapuskar wants to have Katrina Kaif in the role. He feels that she will look like the heroines of the black and white era. Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Rakjumar Hirani want Kareena to do it. They were much impressed with her after her stellar act in ‘3 Idiots’. Kareena stayed silent when she was asked about her interest in ‘Ferrari ki Sawari’. But she did send out positive vibes by reiterating how much she enjoyed working with the team of Vidhu Vinod Chopra. She also mentioned that she got along famously with Madhavan and Sharman on the sets of ‘3 Idiots’. We feel the role is going to go Kareena’s way. What say?

Taking cognizance of a complaint petition filed against cine stars Katrina Kaif, Vidya Balan and Sonakshi Sinha for allegedly spreading vulgarity in the society, sub-judge I B P Singh, who was in-charge of the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM), Muzaffarpur, on Monday said that the regular CJM, Muzaffarpur, would look into the matter.

A Muzaffarpur-based lawyer, Sudhir Kumar Ojha, who filed the complaint petition in CJM’s court on Monday, told TOI that he had filed the petition against three cine stars – Katrina Kaif, Vidya Balan and Sonakshi Sinha – accusing them of spreading vulgarity in the society. He said that he filed complaint petition against Katrina for the song ‘Sheela ki Jawani’ picturised on her.

Regarding Vidya Balan and Sonakshi, Ojha said that they had posed for vulgar photographs in a fashion magazine published in January, 2011. He pleaded in the court that such songs and photographs spread vulgarity in the society, which was against country’s culture and tradition.

Ojha said that he further pleaded that it would have an adverse impact on young boys and girls. He said that taking cognizance of the complaint, the sub-judge 1 said the regular CJM would look into the complaint and fixed the next date of hearing on February 4, 2011.
