Deepika Padukone will be the item number sensation in 2011! At least, that’s what she is aiming for. Deepika will groove to the hit song of Zeenat Aman, ‘Dum Maro Dum’. The year 2010 belonged to Sheila and Munni. If things go her way, 2011 will belong to Deepika. She’s leaving no stone unturned to ensure that her dance number is shot and choreographed by the best team. Her aim is to make it better than ‘Sheila ki Jawani’, a song that continues to rule the roost and get Farah Khan one award after another. In terms of awards, Sheila has beaten Munni quite comprehensively!

The film that Deepika will swing to has the very epitome of sensuality,Bipasha Basu, in the lead. The dance number will be a rehash of the one that made Zeenat Aman a sensation. Deepika wants to look her best and do something that will turn her career on its head. However, it won’t just be Deepika Padukone who will put on her dancing shoes in 2011. Kareena Kapoor will do the same in Shah Rukh Khan’s home production ‘Ra.One’. Her song is titled ‘Chammak Chhallo’. The sensual item song will see the svelte Kareena groove to the beat. As obvious, Shah Rukh is leaving no stone unturned to make his heroine the new buzzword in Bollywood.

Kareena is already the toast of the town, of course! Newcomer Ranveer Singh, who’s grabbing all the debutant male actor awards for ‘Band Baaja Baarat’ is a self-confessed Kareena Kapoor fan. He appeared on Karan’s chat show ‘Koffee with Karan’ and admitted to his undying love for the diva. He didn’t bat an eyelid before going down on his knees to speak about his love for Bebo, despite having lady-love Anushka Sharma on the same couch. Seems like Kareena is a darling that everyone wants to be with!

You must often hear it being said that there is no shortage of work in Bollywood and actors can find enough projects if they are competent. But when it comes to the A-list projects, there is a crunch situation. The top grade actors stay in contention for these projects till someone is finalized. Some days ago we reported about the indecision over the lead actress in ‘Dhoom 3’. Now it’s Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s ‘Ferrari ki Sawari’ that has some problems in casting the leading lady. B-town scorchers Katrina Kaif andKareena Kapoor are in the loop for the role.

The male lead of ‘Ferrari ki Sawari’ is Sharman Joshi. He will be working with Vidhu Vinod Chopra again after the stupendous success of ‘3 Idiots’. The film will be directed by debutant Rajesh Mapuskar. When they began working on the script, Rajesh or Vinod did not have a leading lady in the screenplay. Then Vinod decided to hand over the script to Rajkumar Hirani. Hirani set aside his work for his next movie and took up the script. He added a character as Sharman’s reel wife. The wife appears in flashbacks in black and white print.

Rajesh Mapuskar wants to have Katrina Kaif in the role. He feels that she will look like the heroines of the black and white era. Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Rakjumar Hirani want Kareena to do it. They were much impressed with her after her stellar act in ‘3 Idiots’. Kareena stayed silent when she was asked about her interest in ‘Ferrari ki Sawari’. But she did send out positive vibes by reiterating how much she enjoyed working with the team of Vidhu Vinod Chopra. She also mentioned that she got along famously with Madhavan and Sharman on the sets of ‘3 Idiots’. We feel the role is going to go Kareena’s way. What say?

>Bebo’s Desi look in ‘Bodyguard’!

After sporting chic Western attire for her role as a hairstylist in Karan Johar’s Short Term Shaadi, Kareena Kapoor will go ethnic for Atul Agnihotri’s Bodyguard where she stars opposite Salman Khan.
She plays the role of a don’s daughter and will be seen mostly in Indian traditional clothes including bright kurtas with lots of jewellery. Bodyguard, directed by Siddique, is an adaptation of a hit Malayalam flick.

Kareena Kapoor has been styled by Manish Malhotra for both films. Says a source, “MM has given her a very different look in Bodyguard, as she plays a college-going girl who is also a don’s daughter.
So she wears bright and colourful Pakistani long kurtas with block print salwars. Kareena is known to be a fashion icon having started the Geet kurtis in Jab We Met.
This will start a new trend for youngsters too of long Pakistani kurtas with high slits and big ghera salwars.”
