It’s known that Boney Kapoor’s son Arjun Kapoor is gearing up for his big screen launch with the Yash Raj banner. However it is now being said that the lad’s name was recommended to Aditya Chopra by Katrina Kaif.

The actress, who has worked in YRF’s New York, knew that Adi was looking to launch a new boy and recommended his name.

She thinks Arjun has potential and deserves a dream launch, which they only can provide.

The common connection between Arjun and Kat is Salman Khan, who was the first to see the spark in the boy, and helped groom him, long before he’d signed the three-film-contract.

Too good to pass up

The Kapoor lad is debuting in a Chopra film, even though his dad has his own banner and has produced more than 20 films.

Although that was not the plan initially. An insider reveals, “Boney wanted to launch Arjun in a film to be directed by Prabhu Deva.

That was in the offing but when he got the YRF offer, it was too good to be passed up.”

Kat and Kapoor are close to each other, and she even ties Rakhi to him, every year She met him on the sets of Salman films for Boney No Entry and Wanted.

However the actress denies recommending his name to Adi, “No, Not true. As much as I like Arjun I didn’t even know till he was signed.”

Kareena Kapoor
The star will celebrate it in style by having roast turkey and Yorkshire pudding for lunch on Christmas Day with beau Saif Ali Khan, mother Babita, sister Karisma, niece Samaira and nephew Kiaan.

Says Bebo, “Christmas is always a very special occasion for me. I take the day off and spend it with my family. We attend midnight mass at St Andrew’s Church in Bandra.”

The actress is using the same Christmas tree that she had shipped from Harrod’s in London last year. Saif will be putting up all the Christmas decorations.

They don’t throw away their Christmas fir trees but preserve them for three years.

This year, Samaira has put in a special request under her Christmas tree. She wants Kareena to give her a doctor’s set and the aunt has already got it for her!

She normally travels to London to be with her sisters and mother for the festivities. But this year, it will be a working Christmas. Apart from shooting for an ad, Kat will also be busy with the promotional work of Tees Maar Khan as well as the shoot of Mere Brother Ki Dulhan.

The couple will celebrate Christmas with Sanju’s sister Priya Dutt and her husband Owen Roncon at their Bandra home. Joining them in the festivities will be sister Namrata and hubby Kumar Gaurav. Incidentally, the Dutts celebrate all festivals.

Malaika and her sister Amrita Arora Ladhak celebrate Christmas with their mother Joyce. Munni has taken four days off from her Jhalak Dikkla Jaa commitments. They begin with a Christmas dinner followed by midnight mass at St Andrew’s church in Bandra. On X’Mas Day, a sumptuous lunch is lined up at their mother’s home.

You must often hear it being said that there is no shortage of work in Bollywood and actors can find enough projects if they are competent. The male lead of ‘Ferrari ki Sawari’ is Sharman Joshi. He will be working with Vidhu Vinod Chopra again after the stupendous success of ‘3 Idiots’. The film will be directed by debutant Rajesh Mapuskar. When they began working on the script, Rajesh or Vinod did not have a leading lady in the screenplay. Then Vinod decided to hand over the script to Rajkumar Hirani. Hirani set aside his work for his next movie and took up the script. He added a character as Sharman’s reel wife. The wife appears in flashbacks in black and white print.

Rajesh Mapuskar wants to have Katrina Kaif in the role. He feels that she will look like the heroines of the black and white era. Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Rakjumar Hirani want Kareena to do it. They were much impressed with her after her stellar act in ‘3 Idiots’. Kareena stayed silent when she was asked about her interest in ‘Ferrari ki Sawari’. But she did send out positive vibes by reiterating how much she enjoyed working with the team of Vidhu Vinod Chopra. She also mentioned that she got along famously with Madhavan and Sharman on the sets of ‘3 Idiots’. We feel the role is going to go Kareena’s way. What say?

Kareena Kapoor is in the business of Bollywood for a decade now. She packs in a mean punch with Shah Rukh Khan’s home production ‘Ra.One’. Director Anubhav Sinha is making this superhero movie. She also hits the screens with Salman Khan-starrer ‘Bodyguard’. If you thought that her costars are only the big Khans, there’s a movie with Imraan Khan too! It’s tentatively titled ‘Short Term Shaadi’ and is being produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. Did I tell you that she’s also slated to start work on a film with Aamir Khan?  Kareena’s upcoming movies of 2011 can throw any Bollywood fan into a tizzy!

After sporting chic Western attire for her role as a hairstylist in Karan Johar’s Short Term Shaadi, Kareena Kapoor will go ethnic for Atul Agnihotri’s Bodyguard where she stars opposite Salman Khan.
She plays the role of a don’s daughter and will be seen mostly in Indian traditional clothes including bright kurtas with lots of jewellery. Bodyguard, directed by Siddique, is an adaptation of a hit Malayalam flick.

Kareena Kapoor has been styled by Manish Malhotra for both films. Says a source, “MM has given her a very different look in Bodyguard, as she plays a college-going girl who is also a don’s daughter.
So she wears bright and colourful Pakistani long kurtas with block print salwars. Kareena is known to be a fashion icon having started the Geet kurtis in Jab We Met.
This will start a new trend for youngsters too of long Pakistani kurtas with high slits and big ghera salwars.”

Bollywood Gossip: That’s true. Bollywood ladies have been known for a long time for their fights but this time, its different!! Its an open catfight.

It all started in Karan Johar’s show ‘Koffee with Karan’ where Kareena Kapoor aka Bebo asked innocently as to where on earth did Priyanka Chopra get that ‘accent’ of hers. And then came the reply from Bollywood diva Priyanka chopra ‘from the same place where her boyfriend (Saif Ali Khan) got his.’ This seemed to be a smart way of reminding Kareena and everyone that apart from chote Nawab Saif Ali Khan, she had also got the good fortune to study abroad.

And here is one that stole the entire show. The question which Karan asked Priyanka Chopra about what she would like to steal from the computers of Bollywood superstars like SRK, Shahid, Kareena and others. Miss World turned Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra very promptly enquired giggling ‘Does Kareena have a computer in the first place?’
